Helen Koutsogiannopoulos

Raised by Greek immigrant parents from Sparta (you saw the movie 300 right?) who were entrepreneurs themselves, Helen learned from a young age the importance of possessing strong work ethic. Her first job in the tech arena was in a one-man distribution company in the computer industry. At the age of 22, she was learning what was needed for her to ultimately follow her dream of starting her own business. Two years later in July 1995, Xcel was born.
Helen loves nature and the outdoors and her favourite animal is the monkey. She enjoyed part-time studies at a local Mississauga culinary school as a home chef, and she likes to experiment with new recipes for her teenage son when he’s back in Mississauga from Queen’s University. She is also studying Spanish in her spare time for interest and travel. This year she was nominated for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award “Women of Influence”.
